FONT FORMATS

Font Format Policy

Every TypeTrust font is provided in both TrueType and OpenType PS formats for the single base price. Both formats are included in each font archive downloaded from this website.

Additional formats, such as Windows or Mac compatible PostScript Type 1, will be provided for an additional fee. Contact us with your alternate format requests.

OpenType

OpenType (.otf) is a cross-platform font format that allows for advanced typesetting features and expanded character sets for alternate glyph selections and automated settings for expert ligatures, small caps, old style figures and more.

While the Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 operating systems provide native rendering support for the Opentype format, advanced feature support is handled by the specific application you are using. Please refer to your application's documention to learn about its OpenType compatibility.

Even if advanced OpenType support is not offered by your application, the font will continue to provide the most basic functionality and character set.

OpenType Features

The following are some of the features you may find in a TypeTrust font. Please refer to each typeface's Specimen and About pages for detailed information.

Extended Character Set: In addition to the Western Latin character set, we make every effort to meet Central European requirements with the inclusion of all common diacritics. This also applies to our TrueType fonts.

Stylistic Alternates: Certain TypeTrust fonts may contain alternate glyphs for stylistic variety, such as single-storey 'a' or 'g' glyphs where double-storey versions are the default or vice versa. Stylistic alternates vary by the style of the typeface and the creative tendency of its designer.

Alternate Figures: Certain TypeTrust fonts may contain alternate numeral/figure sets, such as Old Style or Lining Figures in Tabular or Proportional widths.
