About Do Gothic
A couple of the fonts I have designed in recent years have been inspired by OCR typefaces. I have always found OCR characters fascinating. It must be the fact that true OCR typefaces can be read by both human and machine. They also have a very distinctive texture when set as text.
I often interpret the OCR look with an industrial sans drawing style. This is the same process I applied to Reform (2001) and OCRX (2000). Amazingly, you can derive various outcomes from the same concept. Do Gothic is the latest which moves the furthest from the original OCR inspiration.
